Give Chengdu city time its own space instead of making a teahouse, hotpot meal and performance leftovers after a panda excursion. Choose one compact area and protect an unhurried food or tea block.
People’s Park and tea: give Chengdu a slower half-day
Use People’s Park / 人民公园 as the anchor for a city block, with Heming Teahouse / 鹤鸣茶社 as a possible seated stop after checking its current menu and seating. The GoChengdu visitor guide lists Heming inside People’s Park; this identifies the place, not a current price or a guaranteed table.

Allow roughly three to three-and-a-half hours for the park, tea and meal together, excluding hotel transfers and any museum. These are editorial allowances, not operator timings. A tea stop is enough of an activity; nobody needs to join a mahjong game or buy an extra service to justify sitting down.
Save the correct names and keep the route compact
Keep 人民公园 and 鹤鸣茶社（人民公园内） in your notes, then match the actual location and entrance in your current navigation app. Do not choose a similar-looking teahouse name elsewhere in the city. Arrange a specific reachable pickup point for the return rather than asking a car to enter the park.
Chengdu Museum is an indoor alternative with its own opening
For rain or strong heat, consider Chengdu Museum / 成都博物馆 as the main block instead of trying to add it after every outdoor stop. Its visitor guide lists No. 1 Xiaohe Street, Qingyang District, west of Tianfu Square. At this review it lists Monday closure except public holidays, with different Friday/Saturday hours. Check the museum’s current admission or reservation instructions and any special-exhibition conditions before relying on entry.
Save the bilingual museum address card and allow time for the actual park-to-museum journey. An indoor alternative is useful only if it is open and suitable for your group.
Food, budget and personal needs
For the park-and-tea block, an illustrative RMB 100–180 per adult allowance can hold a simple lunch, tea and local transport while you compare real choices. It is a worksheet assumption, not a current Heming price, a city average or an all-inclusive ticket. Extra services, a show, museum extras and a panda excursion are separate decisions.
For Sichuan food, “less chili” is a taste request; an allergy is a separate ingredient and preparation question. Ask staff about ingredients and cross-contact, and use the food-allergy planning guide when safety is the issue. Include children’s ages, walking tolerance and required rest stops in your itinerary brief.
Separate tea, pandas and an evening performance
Fit this block into the wider route
A panda visit has its own venue, ticket and transfer. A Sichuan opera or face-changing performance has its own program and seat conditions. Choose which deserves a separate block rather than promising all of them in one relaxed afternoon. Compare Xi’an and Chengdu when the national route has room for only one, and use the planning hub to protect a usable day for the choice.
