Who We Are
A small, remote team spread across Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Guilin. We’re a mix of Chinese locals, long-term expats, travel writers, and logistics nerds. We’ve collectively spent over 50 years navigating China’s transport system, restaurant scene, and bureaucracy — and we turned that into a product.
The Origin
LOCLYX started with a single frustrated traveler — a friend we met in the US, stranded at a train station in Nanjing with a dead phone, a paper ticket in Chinese she couldn’t read, and a ChatGPT itinerary that told her the restaurant was “near the metro.” It wasn’t. She spent three hours walking in 35°C heat. The next day, she wrote the first LOCLYX itinerary — by hand, for herself. Friends asked for copies. Then friends of friends. Then strangers on the internet.
That first napkin-scribbled itinerary grew into a structured system: a day-by-day execution plan built by locals, delivered as a polished PDF, backed by real human support. Every pain point in our product comes from personal experience — and every solution was built to erase it.
