Start with the work you still need to do
Planning your own China trip can be the right choice. The question is whether you want to research the connections between the decisions: city order, actual stations, hotel areas, timed attractions, food preferences and the pace of each day. A local planner can organize that work around your brief while you keep responsibility for your bookings.
There is no reliable universal number of research hours for a first trip. List the tasks still unresolved, estimate your own available time and decide which uncertainty matters most. A simple two-base route and a multi-city family trip are different jobs.
- Which cities fit after arrival, departure and transfer days are counted?
- Does each transport leg use the station or airport convenient for your route?
- Which attractions need booking attention, and what is the backup?
- Does the hotel area reduce daily travel without exceeding the budget?
- Can everyone manage the luggage, walking and start times in the plan?
- Are payment, phone and entry preparations ready before departure?
What paid planning should add
LOCLYX’s China-based Chinese local team turns your dates, interests, budget and preferred pace into a personalized written itinerary. The value is the connection between choices: why a city belongs, how the transfer affects the day, where to allow rest and how to adjust if a stop cannot work.
You should be able to see transport per leg, destination information, food options, booking priorities and alternatives in the document. Compare the complete 136-page, 10-day sample with the work you want help with. The preview is not evidence that every suggested activity suits every traveler.
This is planning only. LOCLYX does not purchase tickets, reserve accommodation, supply guides or operate ground services. An escorted tour or booking agency offers a different product and should be compared by its actual inclusions.
Compare three approaches by responsibility
| Question | DIY planning | LOCLYX written plan | Tour or booking service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who structures the route? | You, using the sources and tools you choose. | A China-based local team, using your brief. | Depends on whether the product is fixed or tailored. |
| Who books and pays providers? | You. | You. | Read the quote; some services arrange specified bookings. |
| What is the planning cost? | Your tools and preparation time. | $19.9 per itinerary day, before any valid discount. | Use a current itemized quote; included travel services differ. |
| What can change? | You change your own research and bookings. | Up to three revisions in the original trip scope under the policy. | Check the provider’s change, cancellation and booking terms. |
| Who accompanies you? | No companion is implied. | No guide, escort or offline service is included. | Only what the purchased package explicitly includes. |
For five itinerary days LOCLYX’s base planning fee is $99.50; for ten it is $199.00. These are arithmetic examples at $19.9 per day, not quotes for flights, hotels, tickets, meals or transport. Do not compare a planning-only fee with a tour price as though they include the same things.
When keeping the planning yourself makes sense
You enjoy checking details, your route is manageable, and you have enough time to research the providers and reorganize it. Start with the China planning guide and the 10-day route options. Treat route examples as starting points rather than fixed instructions.
DIY does not inherently mean a poor trip. The important part is knowing which information is current, what you have booked and how to recover if a key plan changes.
When to consider local help
You have several destinations competing for too few days, a family with different needs, a fixed flight or event, or a route that only works if every connection goes perfectly. Explain those constraints to the planner before ordering.
If your main difficulty is deciding whether this is a planning problem we can help with, ask the team about service fit before ordering. Describe the route and constraints; use the travel brief for the detailed planning information.
A useful planning service may recommend one fewer city or a slower day. It should explain the trade-off rather than promise to fit every saved attraction. Read the custom-planning guide, the AI and human-planning comparison and the published price and scope before deciding.
Questions before choosing
Is a local planner worth it for every first trip?
No. Compare the fee with the route decisions you want help with, your available time and the level of detail in the sample. The number of cities alone does not prove that you need paid planning.
Will LOCLYX make my bookings?
No. You book and pay the providers. Planning identifies practical choices and priorities; it is not a reservation confirmation.
Can I still use an AI draft?
Yes. You can use it to organize ideas. State your fixed constraints and preferences in the form so the finished itinerary can be built around them.
What happens if I want a change?
The service includes up to three revisions within the original trip scope. Their deadline and the refund and cancellation conditions are governed by the published policy.
What you receive from LOCLYX
LOCLYX is a China-based local team. We tailor a written travel plan to your dates, budget, interests, pace and practical constraints. The planning fee is $19.9 per travel day; flights, hotels, trains, tickets, meals and other travel purchases are paid separately. We provide planning only: we do not make reservations, supply ground services or act as your tour guide.
The initial plan is delivered within 48 hours of successful payment. Your outbound flight from home must be at least 48 hours away. Up to three revisions expire at the start of your home-origin departure date (earliest possible start if the departure country spans time zones; see your exact deadline in My LOCLYX). For cancellation, refund and revision conditions, read the published policy that applies to your order.
Inspect the complete 136-page, 10-day sample and price and inclusions before you submit your travel brief. The sample is an anonymized real delivery showing the route, practical details and backup options. Your own plan is tailored to your brief; the sample does not promise a particular travel outcome.
