Travel marketing is useful only when it helps you understand what you will receive. Check the exact product, final quote, booking responsibility, evidence and written terms. Ambiguous copy is a reason to ask questions; it is not enough to accuse a provider of fraud.
Use this guide to compare China travel offers with your own needs. The goal is a clear purchase decision, not a contest between a package tour and a planning service that sells something different.
First ask: what is the product?
| Offer | Typical responsibility to clarify | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Guided tour or package | Which bookings and on-the-ground services the operator supplies. | Named itinerary, inclusions, supplier terms and support arrangements. |
| Booking assistance | Which reservations are made, by whom, and who handles changes. | Order confirmation, supplier references and itemized fees. |
| Digital travel planning | Who builds the written route and who makes the actual purchases. | A document sample, delivery scope and revision policy. |
| Creator recommendation | Whether the creator received a benefit or earns commission. | Clear disclosure and relevant first-hand or documented product evidence. |
Translate attractive claims into concrete questions
| Marketing phrase | Question to ask |
|---|---|
| “From” a headline price | Which dates, traveler count, occupancy and inclusions produce this amount? What is my complete quote? |
| “Local expert” | Where is the team based, what work do they do, and what can they demonstrate about this route? |
| “Private” or “custom” | Which decisions change around my dates, pace, budget and needs? What stays fixed? |
| “Everything included” | Is there a written inclusions list? Are transport, admission, meals and optional activities covered? |
| “Unlimited support” | Which channel, hours, issues and time period are covered? Does this include emergency operations? |
| A star badge or award | Who issued it, what was assessed, when, and where can the original record be found? |
| A countdown or limited offer | What actually expires, and what are the price and cancellation terms? |
A tailored plan should change decisions, not just the greeting
Compare the service with the information it asks from you. Travel dates, home-origin flight time, arrival and exit airports, hotel changes, interests, food needs, mobility and budget should affect the route. A short form is not automatically bad, but there must be a workable way to collect constraints.
Ask what happens when a preferred train is unavailable, a restaurant is unsuitable or a transfer consumes most of a day. A useful plan connects the route with practical alternatives. It should not promise that live availability remains unchanged.
See common route-planning mistakes and compare them with the provider’s sample before buying.
Separate proof, examples and promises
A sample shows a style and level of detail. A testimonial is feedback. A documented case shows a particular piece of work and context. None guarantees the same outcome for every traveler. An example route should be labeled illustrative; a real case needs permission and evidence.
Do not infer that every polished photograph belongs to a customer or that every familiar-looking review is invented. Use the review-verification checklist to evaluate the available evidence without exposing private customer data.
Compare two offers using one travel brief
- Send both providers the same dates, traveler count, trip length, budget and important constraints.
- Record the deliverable, booking responsibilities and support scope in separate rows.
- Compare all payable costs and excluded travel purchases. Use the quote checklist.
- Read delivery, cancellation and revision terms together; keep a copy of the version you accepted.
- Choose the product that removes your actual planning burden, rather than the one with the most adjectives.
How the LOCLYX planning service fits
LOCLYX is a China-based local team. We tailor a written travel plan to your dates, budget, interests, pace and practical constraints. The planning fee is $19.9 per travel day; flights, hotels, trains, tickets, meals and other travel purchases are paid separately. We provide planning only: we do not make reservations, supply ground services or act as your tour guide.
The initial plan is delivered within 48 hours of successful payment. Your outbound flight from home must be at least 48 hours away. Up to three revisions expire at the start of your home-origin departure date (earliest possible start if the departure country spans time zones; see your exact deadline in My LOCLYX). For cancellation, refund and revision conditions, read the published policy that applies to your order.
Our work is a written route built by a China-based local team around the individual travel brief. It covers the sequence of places, day-by-day logistics and practical choices. It is not a package tour, reservation service or on-the-ground guide.
Review the team page, sample, Reviews and pricing before deciding. The public sample shows part of the deliverable; a fuller documented case is being prepared.
If that scope fits, submit your constraints through Plan My Trip. If it does not, ask for clarification before paying.
